LZ Lambeau will feature a special evening tribute inside Green Bay's Lambeau Field that will honor and thank Wisconsin's Vietnam veterans, while offering a warm welcome home that many never received. The ceremony will include music, aerial fly-bys, presentations and premiere segments of the forthcoming Wisconsin Vietnam War Stories documentary. The event will also include a special memorial to the 1,244 people from Wisconsin who were killed in action in Vietnam or are still missing in action.
Participants in the event will include Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame quarterback Bart Starr, soul and R&B legend Ben E. King, Wisconsin Gov. Jim Doyle, country musicians Rockie Lynne and Paulette Carlson, rock artist and Vietnam veteran Kimo Williams, actress Chris Noel, and many others.
"I am honored to have the opportunity to welcome Wisconsin's Vietnam veterans to Lambeau Field," Starr said. "My family and I have always recognized and appreciated the service and sacrifice made by the brave men and women who serve our country. It will be a privilege to say 'thank you' and 'welcome home' at LZ Lambeau."
